Footwear for Us!

Oct 21 2010 |

My family went to SM North Edsa Mall today to buy a pair of sandals for my daughter, Almia, for her to use in her school program as they celebrate Foundation and U.N. Day.

The children are going to present a song and dance presentation in the theme that revolves around the Filipino’s gift of healing and restoration of peace and brotherhood in the whole world.

Of course we have to buy Aiesha a pair of sandals too, so she wont get jealous on her big sister. My wife decided to buy me snickers too as her gift for my birthday (kinda late though, but it is better than nothing :) ). She bought me an Adidas Hoepel rubber shoes.

Before we go home, we bought our kids their new pet, a pair of turtle wherein they named them with Lilo and Stitch. Thanks Mom! We Love You!

My Day

Sep 19 2010 |

September 19, the day of my birth. One more number added to my age. I’m now 29 years old. One more year to go and I’m out of the calendar. Time is passing too fast, it seems like I was still 18 years old not realizing that a decade has already passed. Soon, I may not realize that I will be in 40’s and my kids are already in their teenage stage. Anyway, that’s the cycle of life isn’t? I just live life in its full, so if I look back in my past I will have no more regrets in life. I have a wonderful family, supportive and loving wife, and sweet and caring daughters.

To celebrate my birthday, we invited some of our closest friends to come by to our house and have a pool party in our village clubhouse. Kids are very excited knowing that we are going swimming. We have our swimming party until 6PM and then later on went back to our place to have barbeque. Of course barbeque isn’t complete without BEER! We drink a couple of bottle of beers before they depart to go home.

It’s nice to have this kind of bonding even when there is no occasion to celebrate. At least once in a while my friends families bond together as if there is a reunion. Our kids play together; the moms do their own thing, chitchatting; and the dads having our own business. We are planning to do this more often.

Ganda ng Pinas

Sep 13 2010 |

Time for a little change. A cousin of mine who has same name as me “Glenn Tumaneng”, and is studying photography in De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde invited me to attend their photo exhibit in Trinoma Mall.

This exhibit serves as their last activity before their actual graduation. The theme is called “Ganda ng Pinas” which exhibits the photos of the different places/provinces of the Philippines to show the beauty of its nature and culture.

I’m not really into photography, but I find the shots very good and inspiring. As my wife and I walk through the exhibit, a live band plays a traditional folk song as background music for visitors.

Foods for visitors are served also in buffet with traditional Filipino dishes being served.

Before we leave the exhibit, Glenn gave us also a paper bag as a token of appreciation for us being there. In the paper bag are plastic of chocolate breads and an Islander slipper, which I now wear everyday! Thanks cuz!
